How to Measure Correctly
Use a soft measuring tape. Measure directly against skin with arms relaxed at sides. All values in centimeters unless specified.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Do not compress the chest.
Waist
Measure at the narrowest point of the natural waistline, typically 2-3 cm above the navel. Exhale naturally.
Hip
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and buttocks, approximately 18-20 cm below the natural waist.
Inseam & Length
Measure inseam from crotch to ankle. For tops, measure from highest shoulder point to hem along back center.
OEM Spec Sheet tip: When submitting a tech pack or measurement spec to our team, always provide finished garment measurements (FGM), not body measurements -- this eliminates grading ambiguity and accelerates the sampling process.
Size by Fit Type
Different yoga wear silhouettes require different sizing strategies. Compression fit vs. relaxed fit demands distinct ease allowances in the pattern.
Size Up 1
For high-compression leggings and butt-lift pants, end consumers typically size up by 1. Pattern ease: −4 to −6 cm hip ease to achieve body-contouring effect.
- High-waist yoga pants
- Butt-lift leggings
- Cycling shorts
True to Size
Standard activewear and sports bras follow true-to-size grading with 0-2 cm ease. Ideal for layering or multi-functional sets.
- Sports bras & crop tops
- 3-piece fitness sets
- Tennis / golf skirts
Size Down 1
Oversized hoodies, flare pants and loose tracksuits run large. Ease allowance +6 to +10 cm. End consumers sizing down is common.
- Zip jackets & hoodies
- Flare yoga pants
- Color-block tracksuits
Requesting Size Adjustments on Samples
After receiving your proto sample, here's how to communicate size change requests clearly to avoid rework delays.
Mark specific measurement points (e.g., "waistband width," "inseam length") and provide the exact figure you need in cm or inches.
Annotate your comments on a flat-lay photo or tech pack diagram. Avoid vague terms like "a bit tighter" -- specify exact delta (e.g., −2 cm hip).
High-stretch fabrics (80%+ nylon/spandex) may have 30-50% elongation. Size changes must be calculated against the fabric's stretch coefficient -- our team will handle this for you.
We recommend consolidating all size feedback into one revision per round. Multiple fragmented rounds extend lead time and may affect final bulk pricing.

Common Sizing Mistakes in Bulk Orders
These are the most costly errors we see in OEM orders -- most are preventable with clear upfront communication.
No Market-Specific Size Set
Ordering a generic S/M/L run without specifying EU, US, UK or Asian sizing leads to high return rates. Always confirm target market before grading.
Ignoring Fabric Shrinkage
Moisture-wicking and high-stretch fabrics can shrink 3-5% after washing. Our QC team pre-washes test pieces, but clients must confirm tolerance in spec sheets.
Wrong Size Ratio in Bulk
Ordering equal quantities per size without market data often leads to overstock in XS/XL. Request a ratio recommendation from our sales team based on your region.
Body Measurement ≠ Garment Measurement
Providing body measurements instead of finished garment measurements causes misaligned patterns. Always specify FGM with ease allowance clearly noted.
Skipping Fit Review on Samples
Approving samples without a physical fit test on real models is a common cause of bulk returns. We recommend on-body fitting photos during the sampling stage.
Our Recommendation
Order a pre-production size set (XS to XL, 1 pc each) for on-body testing before confirming final bulk quantities. Our MOQ for size-set samples is just 5 pcs per style.
